  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually beat in the dry flour mixture just until combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Gently stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a spatula.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
